Extra mode is unlocked either by finishing the game once or by importing a Clear Data save from the first game. Extra mode comes with tougher battles but also unlocks the Door of Destiny after some progress. Through the Door, players can access the maps from the first game and unlock items and characters from the first game. Leonhardt, his descendants, the heroines, Ellis and Dyshana are unlocked free. However, other playable characters must be downloaded from the Playstation Store. It is currently unknown if this will be a feature in the English versions or if it have to be downloaded from the Playstation Network/Xbox Live Marketplace.
